Without hope we are despondent and depressed. We feel our lives have no where to go. We feel there is no remedy for us. We are depressed because we feel there is nothing we can do. We’re stuck.
But God, sent his only son to die on a cross for us and be our hope. We can expect God when things look the darkest. We can have hope. Jesus is our Hope who has broken down the middle wall between God and man. Jesus came in human form. He took on human flesh to feel all the feelings we are feeling, to suffer and be “a man afflicted.”
Because of his blood that Jesus shed on the cross, he has made a way for us. He has given us hope in our final outcome. This hope “reaches behind the veil” into God’s very presence so we can present ourselves to him and cry out to our heavenly father. In ourselves, in our own abilities life can look bleak. But in God, “all things are possible. Not one word of the Bible is impossible for God to manifest in our lives.
Emmanuel, God came to earth to live with us. He came to fellowship with us. He came to adopt us as his very own. He came to give us hope in our final outcome.
A prayer: Father God, make yourself known to me. Come into my life and commune with me. Come and take my burdens. I lay them at your feet. All of my efforts have failed. I need you Jesus. Forgive me. Heal me. Help me. Make yourself known to me in Jesus’ name amen.
