Whatever storms that are raging in our personal lives, our bodies, our families or our world, God is our peace. We can rest in Him. We can find heart peace in God alone. We can read His word, pray and linger in His presence. We can turn off all the distractions, the screens that are begging for our attention and rest in Him alone. We can walk outside to the garden or look at a tree through the window and in seeing His creation feel His peace.
Philippians 4:7 New King James version tells us, “ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”
The Message version says, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”
My original watercolor is called, “God is my peace in the storm.” I painted it from life on thick watercolor paper. It is 10”x14”
